    Bill Nye

Hardcover (Forgotten Books, Jan. 22, 2018)
Excerpt from Bill Nye's CordwoodNo one can go through the wide territory of Montana to-day without being strongly impressed with the wonderful growth of the great cattle grow ing and grazing industry of that territory. And yet Montana is but the northern extremity of the great grazing belt Which lies at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, extending from the British possessions on the north to the Mexican border on the south, extending eastward, too, as far as the arable lands of Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas.Montana, at this season of the year, is the para dise of the sleek, high-headed, 2-year-old Texan steer, with his tail over the dashboard, as well as the stock yearling, born on the range, beneath the glorious mountain sky and under the auspices of roundup No. 21.I do not say this to advertise the stock growing business, because it is already advertised too much.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. • Bill Nye's Sparks

    Bill Wilson Nye

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Jan. 14, 2018)
Excerpt from Bill Nye's SparksHe wrote some letters to the Cheyenne Sun and soon made such a reputation for himself that he was able to obtain a position on the Laramie Senti nel Of this experience he wrote: The salary was small, but the latitude was great, and I was permitted to write anything that I thought would please the people, whether it was news or not. By and by I had won every heart by my patient poverty and my delightful parsimony with regards to facts. With a hectic imagination and an order on a restaurant which advertised in the paper I scarcely cared through the livelong day whether school kept or not.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. • Bill Nye's Sparks

    Bill Nye

Paperback (Independently published, April 13, 2020)
MY DEAR SIR: You will doubtless be surprised to hear from me so soon, as I did not promise when I left New York that I would write you at all while here. But now I take pen in hand to say that the Senate and House of Representatives are having a good deal of fun with me, and hope you are enjoying the same great blessing. You will wonder at first why I send in my expense account before I send in anything for the paper, but I will explain that to you when I get back. At first I thought I would not bother with the expense account till I got to your office, but I can now see that it is going to worry me to get there unless I hear from you favorably by return mail. When I came here I fell into the mad whirl of society, and attracted a good deal of attention by my cultivated ways and Jeffersonian method of sleeping with a different member of Congress every night. I have not written anything for publication yet, but I am getting material together that will make people throughout our broad land open their eyes in astonishment. I shall deal fairly and openly with these great national questions, and frankly hew to the line, let the chips fall where they may, as I heard a man say to-day on the floor of the house—the Willard House, I mean. But I believe in handling great political matters without gloves, as you will remember, if you have watched my course as justice of the peace and litterateur. Candor is my leading characteristic, and if you will pardon me for saying so in the first letter you ever received from me I believe there is nothing about my whole character which seems to challenge my admiration for myself any more than that.

  • Nye and Riley's Railway Guide

    Bill Nye

Hardcover (Forgotten Books, March 21, 2018)
Excerpt from Nye and Riley's Railway GuideThe authors of this book have made railroad travel a close study. They have discovered that there has been no provision made for the man who erroneously gets into a car which is side-tracked and swept out and scrubbed by people who take in cars to scrub and laundry. He is one of the men we are striving at this moment to reach with our little volume. We have each of us been that man. We are yet.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. • Bill Nye's Sparks

    Bill Nye

Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Dec. 2, 2017)
Excerpt from Bill Nye and Boomerang: Or the Tale of a Meek-Eyed Mule; And Some Other Literary GemsI write this letter in great haste, as I have just returned from the new carbonate discoveries, and haven't any sur plus time left. While I was there a driving snow storm raged on the mountains, and slowly melting made the yellow ochre into tough plastic clay which adhered to my boots to such an extent that before I knew it my delicately arched feet were as large as a bale of hay with about the same symmetrical outlines.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
